Houston Area Zeta Phi Beta Undergraduate Chapters

Lambda Zeta currently sponsors four collegiate Zeta chapters in Houston and surrounding areas:

  • Nu Alpha Chapter, located at Texas Southern University, was chartered in March 1938.

  • Sigma Gamma Chapter, our city-wide undergraduate chapter, was chartered in September 1968. This chapter was formed for women who attend school at a Houston area college or university where there is no existing Zeta chapter.

  • Phi Epsilon Chapter was chartered at the University of Houston Central Campus in February 1975.
  • In April 1976, Lambda Eta Chapter was chartered at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

Membership

Each chapter actively participates in programs on their campus and in the community. Our undergraduates are recipients of numerous honors, and regularly receive recognition for academic and community service achievement.

Membership in each chapter is determined by guidelines set by each campus and the sorority. For more information, please visit the chapters' websites or speak to one of the sorority members at your local campus. If you are a woman pursuing enrolled in a 4 year degree program at a Houston area college without an existing Zeta chapter, you may be eligible to pursue membership in our city-wide chapter, Sigma Gamma. For more information about this chapter, please contact our chapter's Undergraduate Coordinator by e-mail at thirdvicepresident@zphiblz.org.
